So many people are trying to figure out what makes Jamaica and Jamaicans so REVERED. Could it be because we have a long history of being a church-loving people? Jamaican has a zillion churches, or pretty close to a zillion. We are a God-fearing country and for the most post we are very religious-tolerant. The only religions that have no place in Jamaica are those that have to do with the praising and worshiping of Satan, aka the devil. If you were to set up a tent or a tarpaulin, on any day of the week, and start saying something about 'loving God' you are guaranteed a Jamaican audience. Absolutely amazing.
Most Christian denominations are represented in Jamaica. From the world's first churches (Catholic and Anglican) to the world's most recent (Church of God of this and Church of Christ of that). The buildings range from very elaborate to very simple. One thing for sure, every Jamaican knows a church when we see one, in Jamaica.
